Secure Folder is a handy utility that allows you to hide, lock and/or encrypt your folders in a very easy and intuitive way.

The program uses a robust password protection to ensure that you are the only one who can access your data. Besides, for the folder encryption, Secure Folder uses state-of-the-art 256-bit AES technology. The program can also prevent your folders from being copied, moved, or deleted.

This utility offers a very simple user interface, whose visual design is in fact a bit "out-of-date". The first time you run the program, it prompts you to create a master password, complete with a recovery e-mail address and a hint. From now on, you will need this password to access the program and, therefore, your protected folders. Once you access it, you will see the list of your protected folders, to which you can add new passwords for protection. To do this, you need to specify the protection mode, which can be any combination of the three modes provided: lock, hide, and encrypt. Optionally, you can also change the colour of the protected folder icon.

After you have created a list of protected folders, you can select one or more elements and perform several actions on them, like remove, secure, or release them. You can browse the contents of a protected folder by simply double-clicking on it. However, if you do so, you need to be very careful, as the program releases the folder to allow you to browse its contents but does not re-protect it automatically afterwards. Finally, you can add new folders to your list and refresh it at any moment.

There is a special feature that, in my opinion, makes Secure Folder pretty different from most other similar programs. It includes about ten extra tools that are very helpful, although they have nothing to do with folder protection. Among these tools, I can mention the Application Blocker, the Privacy Sweep tool, the Screen Capture tool, the Start-up Manager, the Website Blocker, and the pen drive write-protection tool.

In conclusion, thanks to the strong and safe protection methods offered by Secure Folder, and the amount of helpful extra tools it includes, I consider you should definitely give Secure Folder a try if you are planning to acquire a folder-protection tool.
